Consumer Reports testing found the Filtrete mpr 1900 and 2200 1" not restrictive for systems, as long as you change them when they are dirty. The A/C contractors just throw all the brands of high...

3M $5 rebate requires purchasing qty 2 of the 4 packs? 8 filters, on top of a few I already have, is a lot of filters. Wish I could get the addl discount from G/E but says sold out.

MPR is a way for a Filtrete/3M to NOT have to meet the legal specification of MERV. That is a legal standard, removing a specific per cent of particles a certain size or below. MPR is just their way...

Is it true that the deep pleats make this easier on the HVAC system?

Aren't these heavy filters tough on your system over taxing the fan?
Do they have 4 inch ones I couldn't find those last night? Tia

dont' use those fiberglass filters. They are just bad and there's a reason they are $1 or less each.

If your trying to be frugal just call a local hvac supply warehouse and ask for pleated filters in the size you need. They should cost around 5$ per filter unless they are 4 inches thick then they...

Please be aware that the deep pleats filters are 4" thick, not 1", so they do provide more surface area, and therefore are easier on the HVAC system by providing less resistance to air flow. As Mr...

Nice find OP! Repped. A 6 pack of these on Amazon was going for like $15 per filter at lowest pricing. This is around $10 with all rebates.

I see the arm and hammer filters are 32.99 regular price on Costco.com. Is the 3m that much better?

Sorry did not get back to you. These are your typical fiberglass filters, and I guess you could blow them out - but they don't really filter much in the way of allergens anyway, more cleaning out...

My opinion is Filtrete filters are way overpriced. Most of them are also too thick and restrict air flow, which affects furnace efficiency and can damage it. For the typical furnace needing 1”...

Not much a discount since the G/E are 3 packs instead of the 4 pack. Amazon has a 2 pack of the 2200 series for the same price of the 4 pack at Costco....

Totally depends on your usage and environment. 12 months is fine for occasional use in a place with clean air. If it's on 18 hours a day every day and it's a dust bowl outside, then even a month...

There are plenty of places where you don't even have your blower on for more than 90 days at a time during the year. 3 months is a completely reasonable general guideline, but there's large...
