No, it would have been too difficult to set it up and check for dead pixels. If you steal it you cant exchange it for dead pixels. Even thief's know this.

Well you still made a better decision since VA panels are plagued by ghosting as well which IPS do not suffer from. Unfortunately IPS glow is the downside and it may vary from panel to panel

They are different panels. The Alienware is native 100hz and overclock to 120hz. The Acer overclocks to 100hz.

It uses the same panel as far as I know. It really comes down to which one you prefer. I have seen the X34P at this price before but not the Alienware.

The colors look nice, but black levels and contrast ratio aren't that great. I wouldn't use it if the sole purpose was to edit movies.
