2-3 years is wrong cause Ryzen 3 series will be out with massive performance boost from 7nm tech while Intel MIGHT just get 10nm out so even than most likely AMD will still have the edge

Good price. I basically built something similar with a 1700/1080 in the same case for around $1200 a couple months ago. I came from an i5 750 and I'm really pleased with Ryzen other than finicky RAM...

The performance gap decreases as you increase resolution. Games are GPU bottlenecked at 4k, so all higher end processors will perform roughly the same when paired with the same GPU.
