Feb is probably still cold in Beijing, and decent chance of smog. Not ideal for traveling with small kids. I doubt there is anything worth rushing to that day, though.

Only reason to go to Beijing is to be close enough to visit the Great Wall. Otherwise it’s a dirty, industrial city with not a lot of interesting things to do.
