Incredible router for the price. Especially if you have a larger home where 200-300 dollar routers won’t penetrate the walls very well. Just buy a couple of these and set up and forget.

Get an Ethernet switch. Modem > Router > Switch > Your devices. It is dumb this only has one port, but it is a fantastic router.

You still have to use the At&t gateway to get service but you can use your own gear for WiFi if you choose. Ma Bell will still charge monthly for the use of the gateway no matter what. I’d advise...

Yet Google wifi pucks still outperform onHub, hands down, while google puck itself is not even the top of line wifi mesh in term of performance. It seems this is typical clearance sale.

Yes, I had lots of issues with R7000. Wifi kept dropping, speeds all over the place (low). Ended up replacing it with the OnHub. I have 3 other friends running it and my parents. 0 issues.

I’m already invested in the Google setup so I’m going to stick with that, but thanks for the info. I mostly need better WiFi for streaming in the basement and 2.4 I think will be fine for that.
