I don't know about "must have". It's definitely a great feature to have, but my projector doesn't have it, it's been ceiling mounted for about 2 years and has been in perfect alignment the whole time.

What about keystroke? I find that I have to do a small 2-3 on a keystroke adjustment, on all of my past ceiling mounted projectors. It has not affected the picture quality, or at least unnoticeable.
