Yeah, the screen protector isn't free, it was $24 when I ordered. I talk to a customer service rep and they said I'll have a credit on my next bill.

Only people not paying attention would do 30 months. You can choose to do 24 months instead and the bill credits will still cover the whole monthly cost. It's hidden in the terms but is an option.
