Install calibre (I use the portable version) then add the DRM plugin by apprentice alf. Add the books in "my kindle content" folder to calibre. Done.

Check your statement and confirm you were charged $0.99 and not $9.98. If the transaction goes through that doesn’t guarantee you’ve paid the promotional rate. Much like we’ve seen with Audible.

I agree for the most part but the kindle e-reader format and convenience is a little better. Worth 33 cents a month, not much more than that though.
