My mom bought this for my son a couple years ago and you can't take it apart to wash and it gets gross. I guess a hose would work in the summer but idk, i wouldn't recommend just for that reason...

No user error as usual. One strap is for to wrap around the bottom of the chair and the other strap is for the back seat. Easy. Have one for each of my lil monsters.
