I think everything depends on what you use it for. I am not sure if you can install third party apps like Kodi or acestream player, just to mention some examples, on Roku while you can on the stick.

Kodi needs maintenance, always will. There was a lot of turmoil during those years. But it's still alive and well. That said, I'd never recommend using a Firestick.
