I thought you only need a Passport to travel outside the US. Why would one need a Visa and a Passport to go to Taiwan/Japan?

Looks like you need to book via smartfares.com. Anyone use them before? They seem kinda sketchy. Especially since google flights or directly from EVA isnt showing that price.

No VISA needed for Taiwan or Japan. We’re good with those guys. Didn’t need one for China either but that dumbass Obama started charging Chinese Nationals $139 so China came back and charged us...

Some countries require visa to enter, like mainland china. You don't need one as a US citizen for Japan/HK/Macau/Taiwan for an example.

Certain countries require a visa even with a U.S. passport like Australia for example. Most countries you don’t need one like pretty much all of the ones in Europe.
