WD tends to put a drive in that is encrypted that is decided by a key on the internal SATA controller. I wouldn’t by a WD drive in an enclosure for any amount.

I have 3 8tb white on my synology nas and i never need to do any modification on them. I just shucked them and put it straight to the nas. Is this 10tb different than 8tb?
