My thoughts exactly. Handles made to hold 204 cans plus ice need to be 5 times as robust. We broke both of ours with far less weight than that.

Pre chill the items if possible. Putting a lot of room temp beer in a cooler will melt a good amount of ice just getting to drinkable temp.
