Snagged one earlier today for my new build. Used to play quake 3 at 120fps/hz back in 99 on a crt. Can't wait to own some noobs and get back into some high refresh gaming.

It isn't built into the hardware, just compatible using freesync with nvidia cards 10xx and higher.

Great monitor, ignore anyone crapping on the TN display. This is one of the overall best TN displays I have seen. I own the 27in and my buddy owns this 24in. If you game this is an amazing deal.

Not as much, most of the time 144hz are meant for gaming beacause of all the motion and action in it. You probably wouldn't need it for normal use however it will make the display feel smoother.
