I think that only applies for wearables that are activated on a plan. If you buy a watch unlocked and just use it, the regular return policies apply I believe...

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The chance of even the aluminum cellular 44mm S5 Apple Watch going to $399 anytime soon is very unlikely, much less the stainless model.

Good catch. Yeah looking at my order receipt on the BB app it says "Returnable until Jan 14, 2020". So even if the store tries to disallow it, you have a good case for getting a manager override...
