I totally concur. But against my better judgement I just pulled the trigger on one of these, $40 after filler and my $40 rewards. Planning to relegate it to backing up my reliable WD external.

coupon is for $25 off $100 or more, but the “instant savings” was changed to $35 rather than $25 making the price under $100 so the coupon doesn’t apply yet. it would if you added $6.00 to the cart.

I've actually had pretty good luck with external Seagate's over the years. Granted, these were all or mostly Backup Plus Slim drives. As for internal Seagate's, not so much. I would avoid those...
