I ended up just cancelling my acer order. As you mentioned they will most likely be similar monitors, the LG panel is much newer and saves you $50.

That's a way cheaper monitor and a 1080p VA panel. AOC is a budget/generic brand. It's not really a valid comparison. I'd suggest doing a little research, Rtings.com is top notch.
