It's curve to keep the viewing angle decent at the edge of the screen. Also, you can find cheaper monitor for productivity than this if you don't need the high refresh rate

To me curves are usually very subtle and I don't really notice them. Suppose to be easier on your eyes somehow I think.

This is using Samsung’s new VA panel. This is the second brand to release with it. I’ve been waiting for this new generation of panels for a while. Great spec’s at a decent price point.

I have the LG 34UC88 34" and the curve becomes indistinguishable after just a little bit of use. Honestly without the curve it would be more annoying because it’s so wide the edges feel so far away....

Unfortunately there is more than just refresh rate even if you ignore the panel technology ips vs VA. There is lag , overshoot, response times , etc all of which will matter for gaming or fast paced...

That curve is way nicer then you'd think. You don't realize untill your sitting in front of it. This is a great deal for a monitor, however if it's for productivity you might want to look into a IPS...
