Yeah. Not sure I would trust the “new” one for $80. Mine was “brand” new from Amazon for $119.

Damn, I think you just convinced me. I have a bunch of Amazon gift cards, but RX 570 prices aren't the greatest on Amazon. I'm considering getting a 1650 Super for $160 + tax given Linus's recent...

Okay for a Plex player, or the server? The server should not need any kind of graphics, unless you're watching content directly on the server. For the player, this would be overkill. Shouldn't need...

Worlds better to the point you seem like a troll for asking. If you aren't trolling, then buy it, but realize your old motherboard and CPU will hold it back some.

Is this a OK card for a 11 yr old kid?

This card will handle a majority of games at 1080p resolution without issue. It will play some games at 1440p or 4k at a much lower refresh though. Does your kid play mostly fast paced first...

Thanks. I have an NVMe SSD and believe everything is tweaked. I suppose my expectation for everything to be instant is a bit much. As much as I'd love to just upgrade the graphics card it does sound...

This is a way better card, but your 2012 CPU will hold it back some. May be better to save for a rebuild depending on your expectations.

XFX customer service is really good. I have had 6 of their RX 580s and had to replace 1. I also had a 280X before those. The 280X died in the warranty window and XFX replaced it with a RX 580 4gb....

Yeah it's a good low-cost upgrade. Photo editing doesn't really stress a graphics card that much. High resolution video is a different story but this is still a substantial upgrade. It's basically...

What would you recommend in lieu of this then? This comes with a 3 year warranty, but your anecdote is pretty scary.

Sure, and the CL seller mined the hell out of the card and it'll be your doorstop/paperweight to enjoy.

You could "upgrade" the gpu to use a lot less power with the same or better results if you are concerned with power consumption. If you wanted to go that route, I would not recommend a 570 though.

Totally worth the $60. Undervolt and overclock that 580 and your temps will be lower along with noise and you'll be running lots of newer games with high gfx at 1080p with 60+ frames easy.
