The drivers are always optimized for the latest cards with Nvidia. That's one of the reasons the 2070 super is pretty much neck-and-neck with the 1080ti right now even though it's a weaker card....

Thanks for that. Did not know they actually went out to visit Tech Jesus to discuss it. Nice to see the revision too, but fears that it may still be old inventory (i.e. non-revised) would steer me...

It's showing up as $419.99 - $30 rebate = $389.99 AR for me. Edit: nevermind, I didn't see the coupon code.

There are re-usable thermal pads which make attachment super easy and are a cheap solution too.. if it wasn't for consumer backlash none of this would get fixed.. AMD still has plenty to prove in the...

AMDs graphics division has shown nothing to have Nvidia to worry. The 5700 and its xt variant are great. But thats all they have. 5500 line up is meh. And every high end gpu they have released...

Agree 100%. I wouldn't buy a 5700 xt other than those powercolor or sapphire ones. You can barely find one of those under discount -- that speaks for something.

Sounds to me as though you're beating a dead horse. There was somebody else who responded to your same previous comment in which their statement aligns similar to what I have been addressing to you...

Err...*fall*? You mean "doesn't improve", don't you? And your premise (that the 1080ti's performance has dropped) is questionable. When I look at the numbers, I see no neglect whatsoever --- ...

Tom's Hardware rankings of GPUs has the 1080 Ti and 5700 XT in a virtual tie .... and the 5700 XT is much cheaper. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Waning feature set/driver support; the further removed you are from their current generational lineup, the less accommodating those aforementioned items will be. Best course of action is to future...

Ended up picking this one over the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super. I watched some videos on the RTX eabled games and it looks great but frame rates suffer when ray tracing is enabled. Not worth the...

Worth it to sell my 1080ti and sidegrade to the 5700xt?

All I keep hearing from AMD users is "muh fine wine tho" and that Nvidia abandons its customer base when a new gen comes out. Truth?

Great deal just be aware the 5700 drivers are pretty bad (getting better though) and NewEgg could be a PITA if you have to return the card.

Another option is to get a regular 5700 and flash it to the XT bios and it’s nearly on par performance wise with the XT as they are almost the same card.

There's a 20MHz boost clock deficit for the MECH compared to the Evoke, which will translate to next to nothing in terms of gaming performance. MECH OC is also louder, but doesn't have that strange...

Keep the 1080TI. I have one paired w/ my 3700X and I would be hard pressed to find a 5700XT to outperform it

I've never had an issue. Even with an old GTX 660 - it still works. The 660 is from what ... 2012? And a quick look on their website shows support for Win10 drivers going back to their 8800GTX...

Yes, Newegg seems to have changed their return policy on GPUs and Monitors. The last two I bought could not be returned.

None of which is true, depending on who you talk to. AMD actually has a jewel on their hands utilizing the RDNA architecture as it brings better price to performance while its their most energy...

It's not really that they don't work when they get older it's that the performance begins to fall. They stop making drivers optimized to that generation and I have found your better off just not...

Price is tempting but I hope they fixed the thermal issues and crazy loud fans since launch.

If it were cost efficient why not just sell the card at $50 below the competitor so AMD can make more money instead of pricing it $150 lower? Think about it. It's not a CPU where you can actually...

The XT is a solid deal but I consider it $60 more than a 5700 because there was a 5700 going for $290 last night without a rebate
Post #133844975 added 12-28-2019 11:58 AM by Flyingfliers73 in Deal Talk
It's probably an AMD offer. I've seen similar offers for some of their previous cards as well. Pretty good deal all things considered, as the GPUs are retailing at well over $400

MSI has a history of screwing up the mfg process of attaching the cooling hardware, so beware.. better off with a brand that did not get caught cheaping out on the heatsink paste
