i5 is great. Just make sure you don't get small form factor. You would only be able to add a low profile GPU to it and also need to swap out the TFX PSU. The PSU itself can cost half your computer.

As far as online refurbs go this is a good deal. But you can also get the same or similar machines off Craigslist (if you're lucky) for $35.

the Dell 9020 SFF is similar to this Lenovo, but I believe it's one i5 generation newer. Smaller case, though; it uses a laptop DVD drive rather than a full size drive.

I can confirm 3rd gen desktop i5 is still a beast in daily tasks. Biggest problem with this is no wifi, and USB adapters suck.
