A Dualshock 4 might serve you better, the DS4 d-pad is much better suited for retro games plus it has rechargeable batteries (to some this is a con, though).

I had one and it went bad. Warranty is bad. I just use a wire or adding Bluetooth is cheap and easy

i had the elite 2 and returned it because it would randomly stop responding in the middle of playing for about 10 seconds when i used it wirelessly with the dongle. were you having the same issue?
