I own the Rockwell RK9002 (49" model) and these are heavy enough to be a stationary tool... I cannot remember the last time I drug it to a job site, but works alright around the shop if by yourself...

These are convenient, i bought for $27 when Lowes cleared these out last year, but I would not put anything close to 500 pounds on it with a plastic front leg lock, let alone the rated 1000 pounds....
