Are there any good small coffee makers like this that have no plastic in the path of hot water? Stainless or glass is fine. Just don't want plastic coming in contact with what's going in the...

Very easy to do with your own coffee and way cheaper than k cups. Cleanup? Just remove the filter cup and dump the grinds in the trash or sink. Very simple.

It's ok but splatters quite a bit, the size buttons are backwards and it takes a while to brew since it doesn't keep the water hot and heats it as it goes which is more efficient I assume.

I use a Britta pitcher which works quite well. Keep it filled by maker, it filters and then use it to fill coffee maker. Very happy with this solution

Agree with this. While expensive, Camano Island Coffee pods are definitely the highest quality coffee I’ve experience in a pre-filled pod. They use BPA free and biodegradable material as well. They...

I've had the older version and even after descaling several times still shows that it needs to be done.

Hmm. Yea, got the metal pour-over filter and french press things from Ikea . Process likely to be too artisan and involved. Haven't really worked on them. Weird nobody thought of avoiding plastic...

Definitely in for one! We've had the SS-700 for well over a decade now and other than some minor DIY repairs, it's been a champ. I know of others that have gone through several Keurig machines in...

Cold water at least I can live with in plastic.. imagine super hot water going over plastic repeatedly.

Actually, now that I double checked, I have the older model- the SS 700. This looks like a newer version.

Can someone comment on the temperature of brew of this machine? I have an older Keurig, and the coffee never seems to be sufficiently hot, even after multiple descaling.

I don’t doubt you had that experience but mine was the opposite. I’ve had to replace two Cuisinart drip coffee makers throughout the years and both times they just had me provide some information...

Ya..I do it about twice a year .on my Keurig..takes forever it seems..and at least 2-3 tanks of water to get the leftover vinigar out..but I guess that's just part of it

I’ll throw this in because I mistook this at first. This is not the legendary “love it or hate it” Cuisinart SS-700 that’s been on here new and refurbished for the last 15 years. Edit: I take...

I have never descaled any of my k cup brewers and never had a problem. We do use RO water though, so wondering if not necessary or do you guys recommend it anyway?

I volunteered in a high school where the department's teachers had to purchase their own coffee machine (and coffee). The standard Keurig's they were buying would burn out in one year (about 4 to 10...

Yep. 3-4 cycles of that followed by a a couple with water. I never tasted any vinegar. Between me and my wife we drink like 4-5 cups every day, and we only have to descale maybe once or twice a year.

Will this machine be able to use the carafe size reusable k cup? I'm guessing no as 12oz is listed as the largest brew size. Also how tall of a travel mug will this handle? I assume the drip...

Can't recall the last automatic coffee maker that didn't have a plastic filter holder. You might be relegated to the world of pour-over to avoid all plastic contact.

You might investigate commercial/industrial grade machines but I'd imagine it would cost a small fortune. . .. Just remembered the Bialetti Espresso maker. You can make yourself an Americano.
