I doubt it's older. Isn't this the 2nd generation of the 0.47 XPR chip? And I doubt they're using the 1st Gen with the bigger halo like all those viewsonic woot projectors people were buying. I would...

Agreed, the LG 4K laser projector is $1000 less and has been on sale in the $2k range (although admittedly you don't get that 15" throw). Hopefully, LG will soon come out with a 4K version of the...

You may be right. I actually meant smaller. I think there is a bigger chip which does native 4K.

Why are there 3 votes. It's like throwing in a free bag of Doritos when you buy a regularly priced Mercedes.

Nowhere near a slick deal - If you can find no tax option you save more than the earbuds value by almost double. Concerning the actual projector - Its super nice as an ultra short throw (120 in @...

I personally would recommend the Q70R or Q90R in most cases over the Q80R (unless off axis viewing is particularly important or are in a particularly bright room... in which case I'd probably go with...

That's not true. Laser is the light source. It does not mean anything in terms of resolution. The display chip here is an older DLP and it has a native resolution of 1080p with pixel shifting to get...

That's what happens when you overpriced things. I'm in the market for an UST laser, and was hesitant at the $3000 price point when it came out. Then they decided to jack up the price a few months...

Correct, thanks. I get why having an UST projector with built-in soundbar works on paper. One unit on your entertainment stand projecting to the wall on the rear and blasting audio from the front....

Didn't say it was native. People just throw around faux K like it means anything that isn't a native 4k chip, when that isn't the case. Epson and early JVC shifters where faux K because they only...

Not 100% sure, but pretty sure you can... in any event, the P1 AFAIK does not use pixel shifting... but also isn't native 4k (it's using a native 1080 chip that doesn't do shifting, but I think it...

They are true 4k, not faux K. There is a difference. Epson 4k enhanced is faux k. This and other 4x shifters are True 4k.

There is no native 4k for laser UST in this price range. They are all faux k. Sony has a native UST 4k for $22k.

Yep, and there are cheaper "4k" options doing what the P1 does. To emphasize that it's 4k, could mislead people into paying more for tech that could be had for less. Why do I have to be a snob? I'm...
