Epson stresses everywhere that third party and refills do not work.
While I always use Epson ink they 4730 did have third party ink that worked until a firmware update early in its life...

No, just get a scanner.
Inkjets will use up all the ink within a year +/- without printing.
Even if you turn on only when needed, will still use ink AND will cause printheads to clog/fail...

My personal experience is that every time I purchase an Epson printer, the build quality has went down again and the purchase price has went up again.
