looks like by design you HAVE to hold it? I can see why it would get cleared out for better designs. I really like the lantern that allows 180 or 360 light and usb charger built in with a hook....

I feel that you're better off just buying some 18650 or similar solution. You can get a much smaller profile and more powerful beams.

If you don’t own a flat bottomed M12 battery, then yes, you’ll have to hold it. Anything larger than a 2.0ah battery will allow the flashlight to be set upright on a flat surface.

Depends on the end user. If you have 18650s laying around sure something that uses those is great... If you have a bunch of m12 batteries then yeah this is better.
