Keep in mind, aluminum has half the current carrying capacity of copper. So these 4 gauge are about the same as 6 gauge copper. If you only have $16, you probably can't do any better.

If you can get the vehicles facing each other 16ft should be fine. If the vehicles are behind one another facing the same direction longer is better to be safe.

If you're really looking for quality copper cables, just look for welding cable on Amazon. I used them for a small solar project but now carry them around as jumper cables in the car.
