The drill is usually used for drilling holes. The impact driver is smaller and usually used for screws and other fasteners. The difference is that the impact driver has a slight hammering which...

Agreed. I still have all my C3 tools, and have bought some used at auction lately to get some of the more useful ones I never got before. But they've gotten obscenely expensive, to the point...

This was one if the big reasons I didn’t go craftsman when I replaced my old set. The number of times they’ve changed form factors, and the fact they have two incompatible lines at different...

IMO as a DIY around the house type of guy - if I could go back I would get the multi tool dewalt set which includes 20v hammer drill, impact driver and sawzall. Those are the top 3 tools most...

Drill newbie here. How "good" is this set compared to the Milwaukee stuff we always see on the FP? Looking to buy my first drill for light work around the house.

Solid price. Seems similar to Ryobi sales Home Depot has had recently. Pick a platform and go for it. I have found Ryobi to have a huge amount of tools that use the one+ battery. I imagine...

There seems to be lot of tool snobbery going on in this thread, but that seems to be pretty normal here. The set in the OP is PERFECT for any basic homeowner needs, light duty or otherwise. I have...

I worked at Sears stores for 4 years. Hometown and corporate. I saw several variations of tools. Some came out around the holidays and had less torque and charging capabilities on the charger to save...

I wish they/someone had stuck with the Craftsman 19.2 line. That was perfect for the homeowner - decent quality and then with the XCP Lithium battery with a multitude of tools and flashlights...it...

I think everyone picked them up. Even Ace Hardware. Unfortunately, items like garden hoses are crap quality now. I was shopping for a Craftsman hose and picked this one up instead "NeverKink XP...

Craftsman are a joke. Not worth the investment. Their ecosystem is too lackluster and their tools are inferior to even Ryobi. Every since they were purchased by Lowe’s the quality dropped...

I think metabo is a fine brand as I have a few tools from hitachi but round these parts, I think newbie SD’ers know more about Ryobi.

I have had a Craftsman 1/2" drill for several years. Works flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this if I needed one again.

Tools themselves aren't the problem, it's everything else associated with Craftsman brand in general, poor quality for years now, lacking eco system, warretys etc. I'm sure these will be fine for...

Yeah, I don't know. I've been calling them Crapsman for years. Like I said, I'm not a fan, but the price is fine and they have more than enough tools in their lineup to keep their intended market...

This won't come close to being as "good" as the milwaukee stuff. Milwaukee seems to have surpassed Dewalt in the past few years as the de facto standard for tradesmen. Dewalt & Milwaukee are great,...

There must have been a tax change, because other sites I buy from are doing the same. If it is "Shipping" only, no tax. If they call it "Shipping and Handling", it gets taxed. REALLY sucks. ...

I agree. Next thing they will be charging tax on the tax they already charge you. It is neverending. I pass up many deals because the tax kills it.

Any Bosch tool will be a better performer than Craftsman by a long shot. Not sure the deal you're talking about since I am in the Milwaukee ecosystem, but if Bosch has anything in this price-point...
