Changed the post to include one from Ebay for roughly the same price. Also found a replacement LED bulb with 247 lumens. As far as I know thats brighter than any Makita LED flashlight being sold.

Brushless is indeed a good thing. Yes, it is brushless (since it doesnt have a motor). Its just a light.

I originally thought about grabbing one and the led bulb, but i'm not sure if the difference in beam pattern will make it spray light all over the place vs a nice beam.

I have used this for years with the 100 lumen LED bulb. Quite happy with the beam. It has a solid beam and yet somehow throws enough out wide to see well. And since my dad recently ran over it...

That $7 replacement LED bulb is 200 lumens. I have been using that other bulb that is 100 lumens for years. It never occured to me that it needed to be brighter. I just checked the Makita lights...

DML806 is on sale for $54 now that it’s been replaced by DML807, and it has 600+ lumens in a lantern form factor. DML801 is $50 and is a fantastic light with 240 lumens
