Thanks for all the great advice in this thread. I’ve been working on my house more than ever recently and seeing all these deals on SD for tools has been fun. I’m not handy at all, but I’m still a...

What task you can only finish with circular saw?

Great price for anyone looking to get into they ecosystem. That 1.5 ah battery won't last long at all on the saw. Great starter set though.

Things to consider for a first time circular saw buyer may be blade size and blade left vs blade right. This is 5 1/2” and blade left. Just FYI

Just fyi for anyone with dead Ryobi batteries, this may be worth a shot. I picked up a dead Ryobi battery from HD’s battery recycling bin and took it apart, since Ryobi charger refused to charge it....

Actually, if you already have an impact driver this would be a perfect set. A drill and impact driver are quite different eventhough they look the same. An impact is more about brute force so it's...

Check DTO. They have good deals on tools every now and again. https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com

Oh I already own a drill, though it's not Ryobi. I can still use that one for now. The impact wrench deal comes with a 4 Ah battery vs 1.5 Ah with this one. I don't need 2 batteries yet.

Normally to cut things. Wood is most common.

There are some really good advice here, but as a beginning woodworker I started off with tools from directoolsoutlet, they sell recon. Ryobi and other brand tools. I bought a cir saw, sander from...

If you are talking about cutting sheet material, jig saw is fine. If you want to rip solid wood, table saw is way better.

Yes, you can use any One+ battery with any One+ tool.

i mean this in the nicest way possible. if you dont know what people use saws for, you might not want to get one. be very careful and read up on how to use them before you use one. they arent toys...

I was at a Home Depot (Southwest Houston) this afternoon and saw this 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Cordless 2-Tool Combo Kit w/ Drill/Driver, Circular Saw, (2) 1.5 Ah Batteries, Charger, and Bag that was...

I would like to start getting into Ryobi. I'm not handy at all. What do people use saws for? We have a cheapo black & decker drill that we used once in a while.

D'oh, you're right. Which is even less like a drill so I'd personally still look at this set if I were just getting started.

That is correct. This is the brushed version.

Post #137627891 added 06-01-2020 7:59 AM by iperfect in Deal Talk
New to this, but anyone knows if I can use my 3Ah batteries that came with my impact driver with both these tools (the drill and circular saw) listed here?

Don’t use circular saw as your start. Try jigsaw and miter saw first.

Cutting COUPLE 2x4 with that battery. Don’t expect to rip a whole plywood with it since it binds and weak. I always ended up pulling out my corded skillsaw to finish the rest which makes a Hassle ....

Mostly cutting material to the size you need instead of the size that's available from the home center. With this set plus some 2x4's and plywood for example you could easily build shelving units for...

Thanks! I got the impact wrench deal that comes with 4ah battery so I'll look for a deal to get the saw by itself.
Post #137653772 added 06-02-2020 5:42 AM by la556er in Deal Talk
not only that, the 1.5ah battery will only run the saw at reduced power. sawzalls, circ saws, etc are dogs with the smaller batteries. they will get the job done if you arent doing anything crazy,...

This isn't a bad deal if you're wanting to get into Ryobi and don't have a power drill, but as someone who is heavily invested in the Ryobi One+ line, I would wait for a better deal if you can. ...
