The one you link are 5 extra watts and 1 extra port for about 20 dollars extra. It only worth if you need an extra charging port. Most laptop will not require 85w during use. The extra energy is...

The W number makes sense to me (I have researched that higher is fine, since each device will only draw as much power as it can handle), but can anyone enlighten me on the significance of the...

The one I linked will do up to 90w over a single port. Per the specs: Technical Specifications: Input: AC100-240V, 50/60Hz 2. 5A Output:

FYI: MacBook Pros are 90W now (used to be 87W). If you're using a USB-C hub with USB input for power, be prepared for even lower charging. My USB-C hub recommends 100W for 87W charging to my MacBook...

My comments are in regards to this particular “class” of charger. The one you linked is 45+45 or 60+30 where as this deal is a single 85w which would power a different class of devices.

It’s a balance. They’re not currently able to make dual ports without making the charger so large you’d think why is it so big. But the tech will get there. Just not currently possible to be...

It's so annoying how they design every charger exactly wrong. 87 watts with only one usb c port? I'd like simplify by having one charger that can charge up my laptop fast, or my laptop and phone,...

100W will be plenty for laptops, possibly forever. As processors mature, they use less power, not more, and 100W is already overkill for non-gaming applications. High charge rates also lessen battery...

Hoping that some day we will be able to go beyond the 100w PD limit into 200W PD for USB-C so that we can power more powerful laptops some day using just type C. GaN+SiC Charging is getting extremely...

I totally agree we shouldn't be overpaying for "old tech" but these types of chargers are routinely at 50+ dollars. Still doesn't dismiss the post here. If anyone can offer a better deal. post it. no...

IMHO, people shouldn’t be a paying a premium for old tech. GaN chargers are here are much smaller and offer faster charging. I expect regular chargers to be clearanced out.

Yep, urlhasbeenblocked (I think that's what the brands name is?) has a 100W GaN charger that's more compact, has 2 ports and is about the same price.
