Your right, that's the energy it will use during its peak... however the equation still applies. How "quiet" or "modern energy efficient" doesnt change the numbers. If an appliance pulls 800 watts...

You should be able to run a fridge + furnace blower at the same time, might kick the generator off if they both happen to try to kick on at the same time, but that should be well under 1500W of...

Volts x Amps = watts. Use this to calculate how many watts an appliance will use. Example: 115V fridge @ 7.1 amps will use 816.5 watts. That doesn't leave much power left for a small 1000 watt...

If it's an Energy Star fridge it will probably work fine, maybe even a newer non- Energy Star would be OK. This machine would not power my 5 year-old 20CF ES compliant freezer though. YMMV.

What's your "whole house"? I assume it doesnt include heating, cooling, cooking, cleaning? You're definable not running a tone of things all at once.

That's not the normal running amperage though, at least for more modern energy efficient fridges that tend to run more often, but more quietly, and at lower power levels.
