Connect the wires in a J hook. Close the ends. Heat till solder flows into hooked wires. Pioneered by Raychem. This is not low temp solder, it is 60/40.

I don't recommend these. The idea is nice, but the solder in these types of connectors is usually not great quality and doesn't create a strong bond. We wasted a lot of time trying to fix a wiring...

You will be better off physically crimping the wires than using these, or solder if you never want to have to take your dash apart again to save 10 seconds.

I meant it takes at least 105c to shrink heatshrink. It needs a bit more that boiling water temps. So the reason people are melting the plastic, is they think they are soldering normal leaded or...

Temperature that solder ring melt completely:138˚C This is not 63/37(183c) lead or sac305(210c). This is low melt stuff Sn42/Bi57.6/Ag0.4. Hell heatshrink needs 105c just by itself.

Haven’t used this brand specifically but I use this type of joint all the time for automotive wiring projects. A bit of cloth electrical tape over the connector and it’s solid.

a good solder connection requires the strands of the wire to also be near the same temperature as the solder itself. just cause the solder melted doesn't mean it was soaked into the wire itself.

It is a very strong hold because it both solders the wires (so they have a firm grip) and has a built in heat shrink which will make the outer layer/shielding stay in place.
