The pints/day is how many pints the unit pulls out of the air over 24 hrs and not how much the tank holds. So if you get a "larger" one it would take the humidity out/down faster.

Yup, I just don't know if it comes with the actual hose or do you buy that separate? If so, what size hose? Also this has no pump, so if you are using the hose it needs to be gravity drain.
