Pretty sure you can use somebody's bank routing information to buy stuff with it as I've used mine to do so and on top of that I've received no-reply auto emails from google before with the email...

OMFG enough! I got the email directly from Google. If you don't want to do it, don't, but it isn't a scam. I still wouldn't put my bank account info in (at least not my non SD one).
