This is by far one of the worst Ryobi one tools. Burned mines out after 10 minutes of use. My 12v Milwaukee is so much better than this and I have many ryobi tools.

If it's One+ they should be interchangeable. As for the charger, it depends, one of my chargers states it will work on both lit-ion and ni-cad. Look for the dual chemistry models.

I have quite a few ryobi tools, the oscillating multi-tool is by far the worst and in need of a complete redesign. While fine for sanding, mine blew up while cutting into oak.

The One+ line should be compatible battery-wise, but from what I've read the charger for the old battery likely won't work with the new one and the charger for the new battery won't work with the old.

Glad for all the experiences here. I have a DeWalt 20v version and was gonna get this as one I'd lend out instead of my DeWalt plus I can always use another battery. Now I'm not so sure.

I use the Ridgid version and have zero complaints, but can see how the stem style battery of the Ryobi makes it too cumbersome for it's own good. Make sure to check out the Ridgid JobMax heads...
