If it's One+ they should be interchangeable. As for the charger, it depends, one of my chargers states it will work on both lit-ion and ni-cad. Look for the dual chemistry models.

The One+ line should be compatible battery-wise, but from what I've read the charger for the old battery likely won't work with the new one and the charger for the new battery won't work with the old.

No you can't return the battery. For you to be able to do that, you need two different items in your cart.

Anyone know if this is one of the deals where you can return the battery to make the tool cheaper?

The quality of the blade is also a HUGE factor. If you buy a cheap blade like from Walmart, you’ll burn up the tool before you ever cut through anything

After reading/watching a lot of reviews I went with the dewalt also. Even though I have probably 12 ryobi tools and 7 or 8 batteries, I just didn't want to invest in a tool I thought I would get...

The Ryobi was not the issue. The blade and the wood got hot. In my 2 wood garage doors, I replaced 6 wrapped panels. For each panel, I have to cut out 17.75" x 2+20.5" x 2 of wood frame edge each...

Fresh blade? We love our Milwaukee Mulimaster and use it every day.
I’m surprised Ryobi can’t get this down.

No, but I bet they make a brushless version very soon. Though you will pay much more for it.

I don't think it's that bad, I don't regret buying it. It just doesn't seem to be as strong as some of the other tools they make. If you use one non-stop you might want to look elsewhere. For casual...

Is this tool really that bad? I got into the Ryobi system 6 months ago, I have about 10 tools and 6 batteries. I do not own any multi-tools and could really use one.
