Is this set worth getting for someone without ratchets? I've been slowly putting together a tool set when things are buy it now prices, but I have no clue if this is a crazy deal or luke warm.

The problem with all starter kits is you'll never have the larger or odd ball sockets. I'd recommend holding out for a larger set on sale unless it's for very casual use.

It's not a crazy deal, lukewarm for sure for someone who already has tools IMO but it is a good deal for someone who does not. It is also excellent for someone who rarely uses tools to have just in...

Are their 6-sided sockets resistent to rounding the screw corners ... like the Snap-On flank drives?

my comment was just an old mechanic's joke about 10mm sockets and how you can never find one when you need one, but what you posted is actually super useful, thanks!

Just an FYI, took a look at specs and ratchets are 72 tooth mechs, so that's quite impressive in this price range. Tooth count is hardly everything, btw, as some premium ratchets (such as Japanese...

Get a small toolbox for the set you have and then get this for a spare. Or keep one in the house and one in the garage.
