Yeah I'd say quality has decreased, just a bit. Gold Toe was made in my hometown until 20 years back. Then down to South Carolina because labor was cheaper there, but they didn't stay long before...

I agree--the size 6-13 socks are big enough for all feet. I'd have to be size 18 on shoes for normal socks to not fit since I like a snug fit.

Yeah, I don't wear socks up to my knees, I am not that old. i find the ankle socks uncomfortable and look odd. I think its the crew length that I like, midway up the calf or so.
