My guess would be no. You will likely need a larger tank to provide the constant pressure to expel left over water in your irrigation lines. I have done it with a 20 gallon air compressor.

No, it won't. Brad nailers main use are for trim and baseboards. They can hold small projects together while glue sets but their hold strength is pretty poor.
