Thanks to nVidia for that. They started using same GPU but with slightly lower clock speed in laptops from their Pascal architecture or 1000 series of graphics cards which has reduced the performance...

Full power 1660ti? Still, probably about $50-$75 more than I'd want to spend. You can get 2060 laptops for $1k but those are usually without as nice a screen.

Don’t know the building quality, but the configuration is perfect: fast cpu, big enough ram and ssd, Nvidia gpu, 4k output, good for either gaming or machine learning beginner.
