My understanding is that they're not loud (esp. compare to older gen drives). You can look at the data sheet in WD to see the db though it's hard to find currently.

EFRX is the original WD Red -> now Red Plus EFAX is the "newer" larger cache version RED (probably SMR in 3-6TB unless you get old stock) not a big deal if it's SMR - has only a performance hit...
