Had a similar problem in that I received a 2-pack of the 20x30x1. They replaced the entire order (including 2x 16x20x1 and 1x 20x30x1) and allowed me to keep the remainder.

Yes the material is pleated but NO it is not C-shaped. It is L-shaped and that does seem to contribute to the flimsiness.
