The description said it’s oven safe upto 400 degF whereas normal le creuset cast iron stuff is oven safe upto 500 degF. Why is there a difference?

For those who are seriously considering, be aware that this is not the traditional version. It is the deep version. Great for stew and soup, not roasts. The traditional is on sale for a little...

Note that there are 4 shapes of Le Creuset dutch ovens: normal, deep, wide, and oval. Deep is better for soups, wide is better for browning meats, and oval is better for taking up space on your...

Mine's being delivered today, so I came to ask the same question. I realize it's a personal choice to not "trust" Chinese products, but I think it's important to realize that Chinese production is...

Nice product and was just about to buy then realized I already have a product that killed this. The instapot. For most everything I would put in a cast iron Dutch oven would now go into the pressure...

I recently bought a Dutch oven and went for the Lodge based on the Wirecutter recommendation. It does admit that this one is better but may not be worth the money for you. This is a great price if...

Your right that there is no specific reason to distrust the safety of the Lodge. For me it's more of why take the chance kind of thing. Especially when added to the other Le Creuset pros. You...

The phenolic knob doesn't get as hot as the steel so it's easier to handle if your going to use the pan more on the stove than in the oven or at lower heat in the oven. They also have a newer...

Yes agree 100%. I think I prefer the phenolic knob as it doesnt gets hot as the stainless steel knobs. Easier to lift the lid to check while cooking.

This one actually retails for $350 up. For starters, Lodge is a good way to start but Le Creuset’s quality has been proven and tested since 1952. This is also an enameled dutch oven.
