I believe this slots down because it is doubtful the performance helps in anything, but a few flat out read benchmarks. As I pointed out the lower WD challenged even some premium x4 drives in real...

up to 4700MBps vs Samsung gen4 (there are none) vs 3xxxMBps gen3 Samsung you do the math (and price/performance is no-brainer)

Why is this pre-order? This isn't rocket 4 plus with a phison18 controller, so it's just only rocket 4 that's been out for while now.

LOL not even talking about longevity man... :applause:
I'm talking about performance. So is this Sabrent PCIe 4.0 faster than the existing PCIe 3.0 disks or what??

the gen 3 is rated for 260TBW IIRC.
have not seen the gen4 datasheet but 1 review listed 200TBW.
so perspective again: even 40TBW/year is rewriting your entire SSD once every 9 days

Large file transfer. My primary use is recording via shadowplay, 20minute 4K clips @130mbps. They average ~18GB each and the saving process scales really well with high end drives.

Do not buy from sabrent. If you have any issues with the drive or would like to return it unopened their support will charge you a restocking fee. Their support is super salty. Even Newegg couldn't...

Good catch. I even mentioned the '4 bits per cell' right after, don't know why I wrote 'cache'. Oops.

You probably won't notice it over a good nvme PCI-E 3.0 SSD. Keep in mind your laptop needs to support PCI-E 4.0 as well to take advantage of the full speed.

For this drive not much. It is faster than 3.0, but not enough to justify it over a similarly priced higher end 3.0 drive. You can get a WD Black for about this price.
Gen 4 speeds are going to...

PCIe 4.0 is only for AMD.
The 10th Gen Intel does not even do this!
Intel suck!

How does that matter? Look at the numbers, 3500 mega bytes. Do you think you will move that number in a second outside of synthetic benchmarks? Once upon a time storage was the bottle neck. Now it’s...

Not that great of a deal unless for some reason you need PCI-E 4.0. WD Black drives go for around this same price on sale and I'm guessing WD is going to try to get rid of their PCI-E 3.0 Black...

On the fence about this one. Don’t know to much about QLC vs the TLC and how much of 4.0 being either overkill or marginally better than 3.0. Any other deals out there that’s more recommended?

What's a use case for nvme 4.0? Everything I've read said it's complete overkill. Genuinely curious.
