also your diagram is flawed. you need router to route addresses. Modem has to go to some router and then you do all your network. one of Deco plays router.

Depending where you live, it's common for new homes to have rooms already prewired with ethernet. I wouldn't attempt anything like that if it wasn't already prewired

If you connect the mesh nodes with an ethernet cable, thats a wire backhaul. If you connect the nodes without a wire, thats Wifi Backhaul :)
