I'm a bit confused. Both Rtings and Sony say that this model supports 120 hz. I think you're right on the VRR support not being there though. Edit: 120 hz is only for 1080p

I'm using 40" which I think is plenty big as monitor.. Any bigger it gets too pixelated (dpi of a 25" 1080p monitor)

Agreed. Bought the 85" from Costco for that sweet extended warranty. Got the xsx last week and it runs great on the tv. Can only use HDMI 3&4 for 2.1, and had to do some setting changes, but overall...

Guess it depends on the application and space (maybe a big computer monitor), but there are a lot of high end TVs at the 55 to 65 inch for $700-1300.

LOL you think you’re playing 4K120 games this gen - 2 or 3 games have support and that’s it. It does 1080p120 which is more than enough anyways.

I am prepared to wait another 2 to 3 months through CES to see if the 65" drops to $998. If not, will soldier on with my 4 year old LG UH8500, which is okay at best.

It's a bit of a trade off. This TV, the 950, is better for TV/Movies. The 900 series is better for gaming due to HDMI 2.1 VRR & 4k@120hz etc. I'd argue this is the best non OLED TV under 50"...

The 950h doesn't have 120Hz support or VRR. You'd be better off getting a 900h (which has a newer HDMI chipset, even though it has some issues) or a Samsung Q70/80/90, or some LG's. So, it will...
