It's a decent deal. The best I've seen is $190 for a 14 TB. Best buy had that deal before the holidays.

Not a fan of Newegg since they sold.. But I canceled My B&H 8tb order and grabbed this one for $13 more. Worst case I deal with WD if it don't pass lifeguard .

I think you read his statement incorrectly, you missed the "by" between supply and demand. Seems plausible, if there is no supply due to demand buying everything up setting up shop working from home...

$190 for 14TB was best I’ve seen. About $14 per TB. Average good deal is $15 per TB which is what we see on SD all of the time. This deal at $16 per TB is not good.
