I'm not disagreeing but before we diagnose this as a worn socket, we should know which country it is because advice for US sockets doesn't necessarily apply to cells in other countries.

That doesn't sound like "too many things plugged in" which could result in tripping the circuit breaker inside the power strip. Could be an issue with a particular socket on the power strip maybe...
