I read this, and was disappointed. The story never went anywhere. There were a lot of interesting threads, but they didn't really tie together. And there was really no conclusion.

1q84 I didn't realize it was weird when I started. He gets weird. And the "erotic" bits are something between funny and uncomfortable. Hard boiled wonderland is pretty good though.​

I felt the exact opposite. A big book just feels so good as a hardcover, and provides a sort of sense of accomplishment plopping back on your shelf. Also, a good candidate for taking somewhere...

Strange but fun book. Worth $2 easily. If you get the paper copy, you can use the book for self defense in case there are no concrete bricks you can swing around.
